The Philips CDD 3600 is a 6X CD-ROM reader that lets you create your own CDs. In addition to recording information on low cost CD-Recordable (CD-R) media, the Philips CDD 3600 is also the first drive on the market to write and rewrite newly standardised CD-Rewritable (CD-RW) discs.

The CD-RW media capacity is 650 MB as standard CD-ROM and CD-R discs. The Philips drive writes and rewrites files at the standardised 2X speed, that is up to 350 KB/sec.

The CDD 3600 automatically identifies the media as it is loaded into the drive. CD-Recordable media are compatible with more than 600 million CD-ROM drives and CD-Audio players installed in the world and will also work with many of the new DVD-ROM drives. CD-ReWritable discs can be rewritten many times over and are read compatible with the newest, MultiRead capable CD-ROM and DVD-ROM drives.

Create your own CD
With the help of numerous application software products available today, the Philips CDD 3600 will create your own Audio CDs, CD-ROM discs, Video CDs, Photo CDs and many other multimedia titles. Available from Philips, the leader in Compact Disc technology, the CDD 3600 is the state of the art in compatible and robust CD storage. You can be sure your data is in good hands.

Drag and drop your files
Furthermore, in combination with industry standard UDF file management software the CDD 3600 enables drive letter access and drag-and-drop file handling in most major operating systems and applications. The result is painless integration of CD-ReWritable technology into mainstream computer systems. CD-ReWritable adds unlimited storage capacity to all the known benefits of a fast CD-ROM drive. Use it to create portable databases, to archive and backup important information or save data you downloaded from the worldwide web. The CDD 3600 is also easy to install, as a PnP CD-ROM drive for Win95(r) and WinNT(r).

Backup 1.3 GB of data
High-performance backup and restore of your critical data can be done advantageously with the CDD 3600. For instance, the award-winning Backup Exec software with the CDD 3600 results in backup speeds of up to 30 MB per minute with software data compression, and restore speeds of up to 54 MB per minute. Standard features allow to store typically 1.3 GB of data per disc.

Choose for the world leader in CD-Recordable and CD-ReWritable technology with Philips' fifth generation drives. Philips is committed to offer users products that are conforming to the highest industry quality and reliability standard.
